This was a very thorough lesson and hope the pages will be available in the future reference. The lessons are broken down into good chunks for effective learning absorption. I would like to know more about how to select a lavalier, how do we know what specs to look out for? I believe the transmitter sometimes have lavaliers in the kit, but are these lavaliers good?

For the Walk & Talk section, it would be beneficial to have video from grounds up. How to do the actual walk and talk and how to talk to talent about consistency of distance while walking and how to rehearse to align video and audio for the best quality using boom mic when lavs are not available.

In college I was studying film and wanting to get into Sound. All of the audio profs were very music based so I would rely heavily on videos I would find from interviews with pros. I would have loved to have had this as a resource. Well worth your time!

I highly recommend this course for people in all areas of production. Not only for sound mixers, but for directors, DP’s, camera operators, producers, etc., who want to learn more about sound gathering and the different aspects involved in the sound mixer duties. All the concepts are very well structured and perfectly explained for well knowledge sound professionals.

Interviews are a staple product in the video industry. If you work in video, you WILL record interviews at some point. Because they are ubiquitous, interviews can begin to seem easy and boring. This course reminds us all of the importance of STORYTELLING in our work and the care we must take to record the words spoken by our subjects, not just the sounds they emit from their mouths.
This course is best for beginners to audio recording, and those who do not specialize in audio recording but want to have a strong grasp of the fundamentals. No question is too stupid, all aspects of recording an interview are laid bare and explored in fine detail.
Great course, worth the money, and will absolutely return on the investment if you follow its guidelines. Enjoy!

The lesson in Module 35 alone was worth the investment for this pro sound Masterclass.
Yet, there are 50 additional lessons full of golden nuggets. Which I feel is 10X what I paid.
As an actor learning about sound, this has been eye-opening. I’ve been on set of Hollywood films and national commercials. I’ve seen many pro sound crews. The information in this course would give even advanced sound engineers a competitive advantage.
Thomas Popp with Video Mantis has done a stellar job with Recording Better Interview Audio!
    Have an awesome day!
